The existing landscape was overgrown, mismatched choices in plant material that did not fit the house, requiring high maintenance. The beautiful stone front entrance was obscured, inappropriate plant sizes were used in many places, especially in front of windows, large amounts of perennials spread into each other. I removed all existing landscape plantings to open up the entrance and home, saving and replanting. Customers wanted to use a combination of Boxwood, Hydrangeas, Lavender, Ornamental Grass and Rosa Rugosa. I was not in favor of the Rosa Rugosa. I explained to customer that it spreads, I used sheet metal around the roots to contain the plant.
The pre-existing plants were used to make many other beds around the perimeter of the property. The many spreading perennials will thrive around the perimeter of the house and help to keep the weeds down.
